In the year 2000, when the newest club in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, was about to be opened, their managers looked for somebody that would be responsable for the entire sound track of the new place. As they invited Rafael Mendes, a student at that time, they asked him to use his many years of music collection to give an eletronic atmosphere to the weekly night that was about to happen. Is that when it rises Dj Pin, at first making sets in all kind of eletronic music, soon he transformed that night in one of the first weekly psytrance residence in Brazil.

As the project established itself, Pin start to play in all the main parties in his city. In 2001 he performed all over the country and started to be seen as one of the main djs from his state. At the same time he was part of the organization of memorable parties in Belo Horizonte, putting the city forever in the international route of psytrance. Soon he was invited to play in many different label party as TIP World, Com.Pact, Chemical Crew, among others.

In 2002 he was already performing in some of the biggest festivals in Brazil as Universo Parallelo, Cachoeira Alta and Sunvibe. As 2003 arrived, Pin was the only dj outside Sao Paulo to be among the revelations of the year of the Balada Planet poll, the biggest eletronic music website in Brazil. In this same year he made a mini-tour in Europe performing in England and Wales.

In 2004 he was responsable for the promotion in Brazil of the Son Kite collection "Colours". In this same year he started to produce the “Carga Eletronica”, weekly psytrance radio show, broadcasted to a 3 million people range with the best of psytrance music and culture; one of the first psy radio shows in the country. At the same time he started a residence with Trance Movement (www.trancemovement.com), one of the biggest party organizers in Brazil.

Later, on 2005, Pin was invite to be part of Planet BEN Records (www.planet-ben.net) crew and started to perform all over the country in partys for until 10.000 people. In 2006 he shared the stage with mainstream eletronic artists such Fat Boy Slim and Sasha. He also became one of the only psytrance artists in the whole globe to play at the Creamfields Festival. In this same year he was a highlight at Indian Spirit Festival in Germany and at Earthdance Chile. At that time, Pin was also invited to join the legendary TIP World (www.tipworld.co.uk) crew and its now also part of one the biggest psychedelic labels in the world.

Early 2007 he had his first track released in a collaboration with Puzzle and its now working in a live act between his gigs.

Pin had shared the stage with an endless list of artits, including all the main psytrance ones, as 1200 Mics, Infected Mushroom, Skazi, GBU, SUN Project, Atmos, Son Kite, Tristan and Dino Psaras, just to name few.

Em 2000, quando estava para ser inaugurado o mais novo pub de Belo Horizonte, seus proprietários procuraram alguém que fosse responsável pela trilha sonora da nova casa. Ao convidarem Rafael Mendes, até então estudante, pediram para que ele usasse seus anos de coleção musical para dar um toque eletrônico para a noite semanal que se realizaria lá. Foi aí que surgiu Dj Pin, inicialmente realizando sets dos mais variados estilos de musica eletrônica, ele transformou a noite em uma das primeiras residências semanais de psytrance no Brasil. O projeto se estabeleceu, e em pouco tempo Pin estava tocando nas principais festas da cidade.

Já em 2001, começou a se apresentar por todo o país e se concretizou como um dos melhores djs de seu estado. Enquanto isso passou a organizar algumas das primeiras grandes festas de Belo Horizonte, colocando assim, a cidade na rota internacional do psytrance. Em pouco tempo foi convidado a se apresentar em label parties, como das gravadoras TIP World, Com.Pact e Chemical Crew. Em 2002 já era presença marcada no line up de festivais como Universo Paralello, Samsara, Sunvibe Festival e Cachoeira Alta Dance Festival.

Em 2003 foi o único Dj de fora de São Paulo a figurar entre os Djs revelações do ano, do Balada Planet, maior site brasileiro de musica eletrônica e ainda realizou um tour na Europa se apresentando na Inglaterra e no País de Gales. A partir de 2004 passou a realizar o Carga Eletrônica, programa de rádio semanal focado em psytrance, um dos primeiros do Brasil. Ao mesmo tempo iniciava parceria com o grupo organizador de festas, Trance Movement, que passou a ser representado por Pin. Neste mesmo ano foi responsável pela promoção, no Brasil, da série "Colours" do projeto Son Kite.

A partir de 2005 passou a representar a Planet Ben Records e executou apresentacoes memoraveis em diversas festas pelo pais, para publicos q chegavam a 10.000 pessoas.

Em 2006, Pin se apresentou ao lado de artistas do mainstream eletronico como Fat Boy Slim e Sasha, e ainda se tornou um dos poucos artistas do psytrance a ter se apresentado no Creamfields, um dos maiores festivais de musica eletronica do mundo. Neste mesmo ano foi destaque do Indian Spirit Festival na Alemanha, na Earthdance Chile e concretizou sua entrada para o seleto casting de artistas da TIP World, a maior gravadora de psytrance do mundo.

Seu currículo tem uma lista interminável de artistas com os quais já se apresentou, tendo tocado praticamente com todos os principais do planeta, como 1200 Mics, Infected Mushroom, Skazi, GBU, Tristan e Astrix.
