Ingles Ever since Caroline Banx first stepped into the limelight in 2003, the now-internationally-known UK-based DJ/Producer has been at the leading edge of the electronic music scene. Always listening out for new sounds, styles and inspirations, she continually evolves her musical output, although her true love of dance music – cultivated initially from her early clubbing days in London – remains evident in every set she plays. Caroline’s career began with a high-profile residency at the legendary Sundissential events, and she was soon scooped up into the elite ranks of Nukleuz Records. She was named a “Future Hero” in Mixmag having impressed judges with her technically superior sets at Creamfields and at events up and down the country. Experimenting across genres and combining diverse influences, Caroline’s own material ranges from electro, tech house, minimal techno to psychedelic and beyond. The deeper insight into music she has gained through working on her own productions has made Caroline even more versatile as a DJ; always able to adapt and grow as an artist. Caroline’s ascendance in the UK scene is undeniable and unsurprising: her sets are a special, a unique blend of electro, house and techno; her mixing ability is as articulate as it is precise, and her unfaltering enthusiasm for the music is evident both on and off the decks. She now has her sights set firmly on global domination, and has been spreading her music and energy to the furthest corners of the world with a tour of New Zealand, Europe, Canada, the US and a six-month tour of the Far East already under her belt. --- For Caroline, 2007 began with touring the Far East for six months – covering more than 20 cities, including playing at the biggest parties in Shanghai and Beijing as part of the new explosion of underground dance music in China. Immediately after returning to the UK, she was flown out to Ibiza to play at The Zoo Project alongside Mistress De Funk. Since returning to Leeds, she has been busy in the studio working on new material: both as a solo artist and as one half of new-venture production duo Zootec alongside Pedro Joseph. Zootec’s first collaborative track “Chinese Whispers” has already been receiving glowing reviews and is getting airplay on both sides of the Atlantic. Producers who are currently inspiring Caroline’s own work are Stephan Bodzin, Shlomi Aber, Guy Gerber, Shonky, Anthony Collins and Geddes. A planned tour of Spain, Brazil and South Africa over the next few months will mean Caroline has shared her musical vision with every continent on the planet.
